Weekend wrap up

Here are some A&E-ish things that happened this past weekend:

Artist/writer Chris Monroe’s new book “Cookie, the Walker” got a nod in this week’s New York Times Book Review. Michael Ian Black reviewed it as one of three children’s books with a “You’re Special” theme. “‘Cookie, the Walker,’” Black writes, “flips the theme of individuality on its head.”

“Cookie, the Walker” got a blurb in Sunday’s Scrapbook section.

NPR is streaming Low’s new album “The ┬áInvisible Way,” which will be released next week. Get an early listen here.

Reviewer Sam Black dug what the DSSO did with Stravinsky on Saturday night, but wasn’t as into the Brahms or the Mendelssohn.
