Bill & Kate Isles, the crooning husband-and-wife duo, perform a benefit concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Presbyterian Church. There is a suggested donation of $10 for adults, $5 for students, with the money going to the music fund at the church at 4430 McCulloch St. Bill & Kate in concert have all the banter and one-liners of a variety show — Bill Isles plays the ham, Kate Isles provides the eye rolls — in between original songs.

Nancy Miller’s tour of her exhibition "Raw Mosaics" is off to a new location. The opening is from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Thursday at Amelia’s Restaurant of Hibbing, 2601 1st Ave., Hibbing. The event is free, and there will be wine and cheese, and music by Cosmic Pit Orchestra. Her work will be shown through Jan. 2, 2010. These experimental mosaics are part of a larger body of work "organographics." Miller uses unconventional techniques, layering and stacking mosaic tesserae. You may have seen her work at Beaner’s Central, where they were on display through Dec. 1.
The Gogebic Range Concert Band’s annual Christmas concert is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Ironwood Memorial Building. The event is free, and cookies and hot chocolate and cider will be served. The Gogebic Range Concert Band is comprised of volunteer musicians from Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon counties. The band is directed by Larry Gabka. The concert follows the Jack Frost Parade.
FOOD AND FUNNY
Comedians Scott Derenger and James Ervin Berry perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Dubh Linn Irish Pub, 109 W. Superior St. Derenger, a Chicago comedian, is billed as quick and witty with material that includes a line dancing waiter and nude cabaret. Berry is down-to-earth and likable. The show is $15 with a meal; $10 for show only. Food orders must be placed by 7 p.m., and reservations are recommended.
