I went to the Grape Vine Cafe for lunch. It seems I am incapable of dining at this Greek restaurant on West 1st St. without demanding that they set my cheese on fire.
This is multi-faceted:
1. Fire is fun.
2. Kasseri cheese swimming in flammable Brandy.
3. There simply are not enough reasons to yell "Opa!" And this is not only okay when ordering saganaki, it is almost a rule.
In other news:
Prepare for more photographs of food. The Current is back in action, with a new focus: Reviews on restaurants, bars and local culture, submitted by a handful of writers.
(Between you and me: I think that chicken gyro is going to get it’s picture on the Internet).
